When Things Don't Happen As Expected...

Just over two years ago, while in graduate school I began having low energy problems. I went to the student health center and had blood work done to try to determine the reason. Nothing showed up as abnormal or unusual. It wasn’t until about a year and a half later, about six months ago, that I found out I had a parasite that was zapping my energy.

At this time in my life when I am being treated for it, my energy varies from day to day, and I don’t have as much to give as I used to. As I was driving tonight, I was thinking of the definition of success. School and work has a way of making me think of performance and feeling good, but performing well hasn’t currently been in my life. Success for me now is not worrying, looking to God in each moment, and being content in Him. I can’t say I’ve done that much today, but I’m now revising my definition of success.
